Star Wars: Revisited HD Donation Drive
If you are a fan of Star Wars (original trilogy) then you'll want to check out the Star Wars: Revisited project. Billed as the Special Editions we should have got, with Complete color correction, every lightsaber and laser bolt re-scoped, 100s of mistakes fixed, and seamless new FX. Han Solo's correct shirt in carbonite, facial movements on alien masks, knobby white spider on Dagobah, Darth Vader's pink lightsaber re-scoped, the massive list of alterations is truly astounding. Nearly every scene has some sort of fix or upgrade. Star Wars: Revisited & Empire Strikes Back: Revisited are readily available. However, SW is being re-done in HD along with Return of the Jedi: Revisited. You may think you've seen the trilogy a hundred times, but these versions make them new again in the best possible way. There are lots of great comparison videos on Youtube if you want to check out the level of production and expertise that has been put into this. Adywan has spent years on this
Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker Review (No Spoilers)
I've seen this movie twice and I really enjoyed it. After Last Jedi derailed the trilogy, Rise of Skywalker goes at a fast pace trying to accomplish a lot. It's clear this new movie is an apology to old school Star Wars fans who did not like The Last Jedi. One of the biggest complaints I've seen is how the force is used in the movie. I've said it before, The Force is comparable to Green Lantern's Power Ring, a user is only limited by their imagination. Just because you haven't seen an ability in a movie previously, doesn't mean something hasn't been done before in the 1000s of generations the Jedi have existed. It does bother me that Rey is so powerful so fast. The treatment of Luke, Han, & Leia in this new trilogy is inexcusable. The three should have been front and center in Force Awakens for one last adventure passing the torch to the new characters. I'd rank Rise of Skywalker around the Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith, not the best, but middle of the
The Last Jedi and Solo Review (No Spoilers)
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a huge Star Wars fan. I’ve taken numerous vacations all over the country that centered on something Star Wars. That being said, I don’t automatically like everything that is Star Wars. For instance, even though I really liked Force Awakens, I despise the Last Jedi. When I fist saw it I did enjoy it. But the more I watched it, the more it moved down the list. It’s not the Marry Poppins-Leia scene or Luke transporting his aura across the galaxy that bothered me. I equate the Force to the Green Lantern power ring. It’s an energy field one can utilize limited by only their
Thor: Ragnarok Review (one tiny spoiler)
Easily the best Thor movie, probably one of my top 5 favorite MCU movies. Not a coincidence that it's one of the funniest of the MCU movies. Unlike Suicide Squad, this film lives up to the hype of its trailers. Unfortunately those trailers do give away way too much. I know there is no way they could have kept it a secret, but how cool would the Hulk reveal have been if you knew nothing about it.
All the actors bring their A-game, especially Cate Blanchett who's over the top villainess is on par with Darth Vader. I really hope her character pops up again in Avengers. Would love to see her and Doctor Strange in a scene together.
The sets and
